Reciprocity between Yacht Clubs has evolved considerably over the years. At one time, reciprocity was steeped in the tradition of arriving by sea, having an established reciprocity between the Clubs, and the visited Club charging the fare to the visiting yachtsman’s account at his own Club. Today, most Yacht Clubs, including NBYC, have extended limited privileges to members of other Clubs arriving by land or by sea as long as the visiting member’s Club is recognized in the Register of American Yacht Clubs. It is also common for Yacht Clubs to extend privileges where arrangements for a visit are made in advance with a Letter of Introduction provided by the Club Manager or an Officer.

Off-Season Privileges
- The Hope Club – Providence, Rhode Island
When our Dining Room is closed for the season, reciprocal privileges are extended to NBYC members at the Hope Club in Providence. The Hope Club is a private, members only, fine dining club located at 6 Benevolent Street. The club is open for lunch Monday-Friday from 12-2PM and for dinner Monday-Saturday from 6-8:30PM, reservations must be made (401) 421-4960, and both jackets and ties must be worn by gentlemen. Members need only sign and your NBYC account will be billed directly for the charges.
