The event will consist of two pursuit races. First race will leave Padanaram Harbor to Cuttyhunk Island to be held on Saturday, June 13th with a 1000 hours start. The fleet will return from Cuttyhunk Island to Padanaram Harbor with a race on Sunday, June 14th, with a 1300 hours start.
Open only to NBYC members. Competitors must have a current PHRF-NE certificate.
Entries must be received in the Club office by Friday, June 13th by 1700 hours.
All races will be governed by these Sailing Instructions, the Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008, the prescriptions of US Sailing and the rules of each racing class in order of priority.
Class III - PHRF Nonspinnaker - Class flag is Plum colored with III.
Saturday's course will start at Mark A south of the Padanaram breakwater and finish in vicinity of BEll R"6", off the mouth of Cutthyhunk Harbor. Sunday the course is reversed. Distance is 9.2 miles.
The start is a pursuit race. The sequence for the first boat will be according to Rule 26. A horn will be sounded at the start of each subsequent boat.
The finish will be between a staff on the committee boat displaying an orange flag and the finish mark in the vicinity of Bell R "6" off the mouth of Cuttyhunk Harbor.
Time limit: All boats must finish within one hour of the first boat.
Trophies: Participation glasses will be awarded to all entrants. The overall winner will be awarded the Horatio Brewster Trophy at the Annual Awards & Dinner on date to be determined.
